Our three acre future homestead, affectionately known as Revelwood is located in a 660 acre off-grid community South of Julian and West of Cuyamaca Lake in the East of San Diego County. The area was ravaged by the largest wild fire in California history in 2003. The Cedar Fire burned through the area destroying nearly all the homes and cabins that once dotted the mountainside.
The wood part of Revelwood is a grove of Black and Live oaks and a single cedar that survived the fire, though not undamaged. What was once a lush forest is struggling to return. It is our hope that we can help restore the land, though we will never live to see the day it returns to its former glory.
